A pioneering new technology aimed to ensure cyclists stay safe on the roads has launched in the UK. As seen on the BBC.
Mirror Indicate (Mi) is the first cycling accessory to make the life saving, mirror, signal, manoeuvre, second nature to any cyclist and to help combat the dangers of road junctions where 75% of pedal cyclists are injured.
Fitting on the right hand, Mi features a shatterproof mirror that gives cyclists a clear view of traffic behind and a single action feature to activate the indicator, which is an added bonus giving high visibility when its most needed at dusk and dark.
A quick glance in the Mirror at eye level provides a full view of traffic approaching from the rear.
A proximity sensor (attached to your handlebar) allows you to safely turn the indicator on and off when approaching a junction or changing lanes. Crossing in front of traffic is the most dangerous manoeuvre which is why you only need one Mi.
The indicator lights up in such a way that it can be seen from behind and in front of the cyclist, as well as the side, so it doesn’t matter where the traffic is coming from. There is an added advantage as well that you now have lights on the rear of your bike and on the hand, at the extended length of your arm, giving a wider area of lighting to be perceived by a driver "

Mirror Indicate addresses the major safety vulnerability faced by all road cyclists.
Given that the main cause of cycling accidents is where cyclists and motorists “failed to look properly”, Mirror Indicates’ far wide field of vision and proximity sensor technology allows cyclists to remain aware of the road in front and any potential dangers for longer.
Waterproof, lightweight and durable, Mi comes fitted with two CR2023 batteries to provide power for the LEDs emitting over 100 lumens refracted through a high visibility lens directing light to the front, side and rear of the cyclist, providing exceptional visibility at dusk and night. Its elasticated velcro hand strap allows the Mi to be also worn over thick winter gloves.
Mirror Indicate Founder and Managing Director, Paul Tolley, says, “I’ve been cycling for ten years and always struggled turning right on busy roads. Turning round to check traffic, then worrying if you can be seen was a problem and the only way to solve it was to develop Mi.
Cycling can be dangerous, especially in cities and towns. Inadequate cycling lanes mean that cyclists are exposed to motorised traffic, and so anything to make things safer for cyclists should be welcomed "

SHATTER PROOF
The Bicycle Mirror is made of the very highest quality acrylic material with an Armadillo Coating to give added protection to the surface of the mirror. Because the mirror is not glass it will not shatter.
LIGHTWEIGHT
By virtue of the light weight materials the user will find it very hard to tell that they are wearing the bicycle mirror & indicator on the back of their hand.
ADVANCED TECHNOLOGY
We have pioneered the Firmware to react in a very specific way. So it will accommodate one movement from the cyclists to indicate their intentions to turn across traffic.
HIGH VISIBILITY
The LED’s used in the construction are the most powerful on the market today (60 Lumens per LED) this gives your bicycle indicator the very best illumination.
DURABLE
The bicycle indicator is constructed using ABS plastic which withstands heat in excess of 40 degrees and cold to minus 40 degrees.
WATERPROOF
The device has been specifically designed to be 100% waterproof by virtue of its cased construction.
